Field Services Technician/Microwave Installer (Similar to Satellite Dish Installer) with Tower Climbing skills needed for full-time position with StarTouch Broadband Services. Positions are based out of Moses Lake, and Bellingham, Washington. Frequent travel required throughout Northwest and Eastern Washington required.

Work includes, but is not limited to, providing installs, upgrades, repairs, and un-installs for Carriers, business, and residential customers, and tower maintenance with Microwave antenna/radio install projects as needed.

Strong computer skills required with basic electrical background desired. Microwave, cable, wireless network, or satellite installer experience strongly preferred. We will train for industry specifics.

The successful candidate must possess a pleasant, professional demeanor, work well under pressure, be highly adaptable, work BOTH independently and as a team member, and be extremely organized. Must be comfortable working at both residential and business customer job sites.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Tower procedure Training & Certification will be provided)

-Ability to lift/carry approx. 40 pounds (tool boxes, ladders, antennas, cabling, etc. to and from job sites)
-Ability to perform wireless equipment installations on buildings, towers, poles, etc.
-Ability and comfort level to climb communication towers without fear or hesitation (100-200ft average)
-Physical ability to assist co-workers down from tower structure as required by OSHA
-Availability to travel throughout the State of Washington for full-day or overnight trips as needed via small or large aircraft, ferry, truck, etc.
-Comfortable and willing to work in inclement weather (snow, rain, heat, high wind, etc.)
-Demonstrated Proficiency in PC and laptop computers and programs (Windows based)
-Demonstrated ability to program and test microwave radios, routers and equipment
-Demonstrated skills and ability to perform cabling projects as needed (Cat5, direct burial, etc.)
-Ability to speak, read and write in English and communicate clearly and effectively with staff and customers in person, through phone calls, data entry, emails and work orders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR training, basic electrical safety training, and climbing certification will be provided)

– OSHA 10 safety certification
– OSHA certified for tower climbing
– CPR/First aid certified
– Valid drivers license
– Insurable driving record
– Must be able to pass ongoing, random drug screen testing
– Available to work from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and OFTEN longer, as needed, Monday – Friday
– Available to work in the event of emergency after normal business hours
– Available to participate in “on call” rotation.

Emergency after-hours/weekend work may be required from time to time.
