CalNeva Towers is seeking EXPERIENCED  tower climbers and field service technicians/installers to join our Reno, Nevada-based operations. This is for year-round, steady, regional work and is NOT contracted. Enjoy the benefits of being home at night an not on the road for weeks at a time. Overtime $$$ is to be expected regularly.

Successfully-hired candidates should expect to spend up to 80% of their time working directly on communication towers, at tower sites, and traveling to and from job sites. Approximately 20% of their time will be spent working in our data center, performing customer installations, uninstalls, network or customer location upgrades, ongoing safety and training meetings, and miscellaneous duties as assigned. Many days will be 10-12+ hours long, Monday-Friday, often in remote locations throughout the Nevada and parts of California. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, in all types of weather.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS and REQUIREMENTS for installing Internet services and performing work on or at tower sites: (Tower Climber Certification, OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, Basic Electrical training program, Rigging & Bucket Truck certifications, and other industry-specific programs will be provided.)

•Reliable, punctual attendance (your coworkers and our customers depend on you)
•Ability to lift/carry approx. 70 pounds (tool boxes, ladders, antennas, loaded climbing harness, cabling, etc. to and from job sites and up towers)
•Ability to perform wireless equipment installations on buildings, towers, poles, etc. (No fear of heights)
•Ability and comfort level to climb communication towers without fear or hesitation (100-300ft average)
•Physical ability to assist co-workers down from tower structure as required by OSHA
•Availability to travel extensively throughout Nevada and Northern California for full-day, overnight, or multi-day trips as needed
•Comfortable and willing to work in inclement weather (snow, rain, heat, high wind, etc.)
•Ability to use ATV’s, Snowcats and snowmobiles to access remote tower locations
•Proficiency in PC and laptop computers and programs (Windows based)
•Demonstrated ability to program and test microwave radios, routers and equipment
•Demonstrated skills and ability to perform carrier-grade cabling projects as needed (Cat5, direct burial, etc.)
•Ability to speak, read and write in English and communicate clearly and effectively with staff and customers in person, through phone calls, data entry, emails and work orders
•Must be able to adhere to details and expectations required for first class, carrier-grade installations
•OSHA 10 safety certification
•OSHA certified for tower climbing
•CPR/First aid certified
•Valid driver’s license
•Insurable driving record
•Must be able to pass ongoing, random drug screen testing
•Available to work from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and OFTEN longer, as needed, Monday – Friday
•Available to work in the event of emergency after normal business hours
•Available to participate in “on call” rotation
•Emergency after-hours/weekend work required from time to time

Hourly rate of pay starts at $20.00 per hour with frequent overtime. Average technician earns $41,600 to $56,000 annually plus benefits.
