Working as a Senior Electronic Technician as a subject matter expert identifying electronic equipment for the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command. Maintained an updated database of Communications-Electronics Command equipment for master database as needed.
Serves as a senior electronics technician and instrumentation specialist responsible for the design, testing, evaluation and implementation of advanced test instrumentation for the acquisition of performance data of a broad diversity of Army and Joint Service materiel commodities (e.g. command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR); materials handling and construction equipment (MH/CE); tactical bridging; watercraft; tracked and wheeled tactical vehicles; electrical power production and distribution (generators); and logistical support systems) and related military and commercial equipment. Has extensive empirical knowledge of the principles of electronics engineering and related fields, such as computer science, physics, mechanics and optics.
Provides consultation and direct automated DAQ instrumentation support for test projects managed by personnel of the team for the purpose of determining the performance characteristics of a wide variety of military and commercial systems and equipment. In this capacity, coordinates work requests with test directors and other instrumentation technicians, recommending support requirements and/or directly providing support for the various programs, and monitors the progress of supported testing for adequacy, completeness, and accuracy of the instrumentation systems and test data. Participates in resource planning and scheduling meetings, and assists the team chief/designated alternate in planning the utilization of personnel and equipment to meet the workload demands. The nature of the work performed requires, as the primary qualification requirement, quasi-professional competence in electronics engineering to include extensive knowledge of and proficiency in the use of various transducers, signal conditioning equipment, telemetry, networked DAQ devices, and DAQ software.
Extensive knowledge and experience in BGAN, Inmarsat, VSAT, LAN/WAN technologies and Satellite systems including Blue Force Tracker. Hands-on experience troubleshooting and configuring typical JMICS equipment consisting of 2.4 meter Tri-Band SATCOM terminal; VTC suite; PC workstations; National Secure Telephone System (NSTS), VoIP , and Secure Terminal Equipment (STE) telephones in a self-contained mobile system on an M1113 Expanded Capability Vehicle.
