In repairing homes & businesses due to fire, water, vandalism, moisture intrusion, explosion, structural
failure, and tornado/wind damage, new construction and remodeling, commercial build outs.

Instructing, directing, Xactimate estimating training project managers, working with project manager,
employees, insurance adjusters, home and business owners, & inspectors on proper repair procedures to
meet or exceed current building & energy codes.

Training employees on use of proper materials, repair methods, chemicals for odor control and smoke
removal, mold’s, product research, and purchasing.

Instructing and overseeing sub-contractors (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Concrete/Masonry,
Stucco/Plaster, and Roofing) on proper repair methods, procedure’s, Code updates pertaining to their

Directing employees & project managers which products to use and not use, which manufactures to use

Training Project Managers:
Writing estimates, evaluating property damage, from fire/water/mold/wind/smoke/moisture intrusion,
explosion, structural failure, and hail. Imputing fields notes into computer estimating software. Training
all company personal on computer estimating with the Xactimate Estimating software, Microsoft Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Select continuing education courses for our Project Managers, Lead Carpenters, to maintain our State
License in Minnesota & Wisconsin. Including class instruction for fire restoration & cleaning of structure
and contents, water & mold remediation for our field crews, project managers, I also attend every class
our employees attended.

ICC Upper Great Plains Region III Educational Institute on Moisture Intrusion February7, 2007. For
continuing education credit by AIA, ICC, Minnesota Department of Labor and
Industry, among many others. i.e.; contractors, engineers, building inspectors, building officials,
architects.

Keynote Speaker: Greater Association of Building Inspectors on several occasions.

Topics: Open discussion of procedure’s in fire /water/wind/moisture intrusion restoration with regards to
building inspectors role during the restoration process and the relationship with insurance adjusters, and
home and business owners. Also open discussion w/regards to Minnesota Building & Energy Codes as
they pertain to fire restoration, and egress codes requirements and the State of Minnesota interpretation of
egress openings.

Topics: Open discussion of how local communities could prepare for natural disasters. Such as the
tornado devastation experienced in St. Peter MN 1998. I was asked to take part of this discussion since
Christians, Inc. was heavily involved in the St. Peter Disaster cleanup and what dangers we faced as well
as the local people of St. Peter.
Consulted Insurance Companies for expert analysis of structure damage, due to
fire/tornado/stucco/moisture intrusion damage, mold source, storm damage etc.

Consulting Insurance Companies in training new claims adjusters, with on site inspection’s, in shop
seminars and demonstrations of repair/cleaning/abatement methods.

Testified at trial for fire damage pour pattern in arson case in behalf of AllState Insurance, as being first at
a fire scene after fire suppression was completed and securing the building. Questioned the fire
department on causation, and disputed as I seen a pour pattern of an accelerant. Contacted AllState on my
observation and the fire department’s conclusion of causation. Controlled fire scene until cause & origin
investigator was on scene on behalf of AllSate insurance. (AllState was successful in denying claim
because of arson).

Testified at 3 moisture intrusion cases for plaintiff that went to trial as an expert in construction codes at
time dwelling was constructed and repair method required to repair, and cost of repairs. (Decision was in
favor for plaintiffs).

Testified at 6 moisture intrusion cases at arbitration as an expert witness in construction codes at time
dwelling was constructed, repair method required to repair, and cost of repairs. (Decision was in favor for
plaintiffs).

Testified at more than 12 depositions for moisture intrusion, and insurance 1st party claims.

Experience/Background:

I’ve been involved in remodeling industry my entire life, (as our family business, was remodeling).

Back in 1960’s through the 1980’s I’ve done just about everything in the remodeling & restoration
business from drywall (hang/tape/sand, and textures), painting. Hvac, plumbing, masonry, electrical,
framing, trimming, vinyl floors, carpet, wood floors, sand & soda blasting, roofing, siding, insulating
(batt’s and blown) remove and replace, cleaning of structure and contents (smoke/water/mold), stucco,
countertops, cabinets, etc.

My experience is in repairing homes and businesses. Seeing first hand was has worked and not worked
over my career in fire & water restoration and my years of remodeling.

I also do extensive reading/research/ and attending several seminars as it pertains to our business of
restoration of fire/water/molds/odors/moisture intrusion, engineering, through trade publications, research
papers, and seminars.

I have worked with and assisted several cause & origin investigators, in understanding fire damages
origin and causation.

I have consulted and directed structure engineers over the years pertaining to building structure concerns,
and building science in proper repair and sizing of beams to carry loads.
