Objective
To secure permanent employment with a growing or well established company who can utilize my skills as a "Jack of all trades". Whether you need it sold, repaired, built, organized, shipped, delivered, inventoried, driven or managed I have the skills and work ethic to do any or all. There must be room for advancement. Although I am content to start at the bottom, I never stay there for long. I prefer a changing, challenging position with longevity in mind as I am not a "job hopper". I come to work to work and nothing else. I give 110% all day every day and am fiercely loyal. I am highly organized and am constantly seeking more efficient ways to accomplish any task set before me. I am a self starter and require little more instruction than what the goal is. I am quick, willing and eager to learn and am more than willing to step outside of my job description should the company goal need me to do so. I despise the phrase "good enough" as this means the first thought was "it could be better" Lastly, I pride myself on being punctual, reliable, and on being an asset my employer can count on and trust.
Work History
JP Motors and Drives
Portage, MI
4/2011-8/2014
Business Development Manager/Service Technician
Was recruited to return to this company after an 11 year absence. Originally started as Business Development Mgr. with the primary task of building a web site. The complete layout and all text not supplied by the manufactures for www.jpmotorsanddrives.com was my first accomplishment. Although I was a commissioned account manager it soon became apparent my primary tasks would be new application start ups and service calls on Variable Frequency Drives as one of only 4 certified Yaskawa drives technicians in MI. As old management retired, conflicts of interest with new management forced my resignation.
Henkel Auto Group
Battle Creek, MI
4/2001-4/2011
Floor Manager
Started my endeavor in the Automotive business as a sales person which I quickly accelerated to be the leading sales person consistently every month. Maintained well above average Customer Service Scores required by our manufacturers. After four years the position of "Floor Manager" was created to make better use of my skills. I continued in sales with the added responsibility of new hire training and designated sales "closer" which meant if the customer said anything but "yes", they had to talk to me before they left. With this new position, overall dealership sales went up 22%. I resigned this position after aggressive recruiting by JP Motors and Drives.

Outside Sales
Started here as the first actual employee. Originally hired to make deliveries. Management quickly saw I could be an asset in other areas assisting with inside sales, order entry, purchasing, shipping and receiving, accounts payable and warehouse management. As the company's success grew I moved into a commissioned outside sales position specializing on the local paper manufactures. When this areas economy lost all but 2 paper manufactures I decided to explore other opportunities.

Additional Information
Have for the past 6 years operated my own business "Miner Fixes" doing home remodeling projects, outside deck builds, doors and windows, roofing, painting, plumbing, electrical, flooring and landscaping.I also do small engine, appliance, and pump repair. I have an extensive tool collection and am quite proficient with several more specialized tools and equipment and can fix almost anything.
I have learned and mastered several different computer systems and am an expert in electric motor knowledge, Variable Frequency Drive repair, operation and programming as well as the instruments and tools required.
Have several years experience operating various types of equipment including aerial lifts, farm equipment and forklifts from stand on types up to Pettibone.
PLEASE NOTE:
I do have a permanent felony on my record. I believe in America you can get as much justice as you can afford. 5 years ago my now ex-wife had an accidental discharge of a fire arm in our home. Naturally the police responded and inspected all the fire arms in our home. They inspected a shot gun left to me by my grandfather and unknown to me, found it to be 1/2 inch under the legal limit. I was arrested, charged and convicted of "possession of a short barreled rifle" even though this weapon had never been out of my home, altered from original, or loaded by me. Depleting my savings and the majority of my children's college funds was enough for a probation sentence but not enough to make the felony go away. I would like to add that I am a honest and hard working and have never been physically abusive to anyone, a drug user, thief, or in any other way, a criminal.
