Sr. Systems Integration Test Engineer – Production Organization
Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) engineer and system integrator.
Developed, integrated and sustained embedded test systems in support ofassembly, test, and launch operations (ATLO).
Designed and build test systems based on spacecraft platforms and requirements.
Collected, documented, and traced requirements using a Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) management tool. Held requirement reviews with applicable engineering disciplines, subcontractors, and customers.
Assessed existing test systems and made technical recommendations regarding reuse, modifications, or new builds. Also addressed obsolescence issues.
Generated, updated, and released documents through a formal controlled process. This included requirement documents, engineering documents, interface control documents, schematics, interconnect diagrams, interconnect analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, etc. Sponsoredengineering reviews and technical interchanges.
Integrated commercial and custom test equipment to form embedded test consoles, a test console is a subset of the test system. A typical console consists of a power distribution controller, a central processing unit, a data acquisition and control system, and unique hardware for that specificconsole.
Integrated Data Acquisition and Control Systems with various sensors (temperature and pressure), analog signals, and digital I/O. The data acquisition and control systems are based off of National Instruments PCI/PXI platforms utilizing MODBUS protocol. These systems are similar in principle to Supervisory Control and Data A systems used though out other industries.
Coordinated software integration and graphical user interface (GUI) development, similar to human machine interface (HMI) in other industries. Develop and manage integration schedules and task. Generated and performed test procedures and sequences used to accept and validate the test system.
Interfaced the test systems over a gigabit LAN network to form distributed control systems (DCS), interconnect the systems via fiber optics or Cat5e cables. Worked with the telecommunications department to establish encrypted interface circuits with remote facilities across the nation.
Knowledgeable and experienced with AC & DC power circuits, analog and digital circuits, instrumentation circuits, control and monitor circuits, radiocommunications, and various data transmission formats including RS232-C, RS422, RS485, TCP/IP, UDP, and1553-B.
Familiar with servicing 100KVA Facility Uninterruptable Power Sources (Liebert & International Power Machines).
Familiar with common test equipment such as analog and digital meters, analog and digital oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, etc.
Familiar with specialized test equipment such as power line analyzers, spectrum analyzers, RF test equipment, communications analyzers, network analyzers or sniffers.
Designed and produced various panel types (interface, control, electrical chassis, etc.). Worked with outside vendors and internal machine shops regarding engineering and production details. Designed panels and system utilizing human factor standards (MIL-STD-1472) in mind.
Experienced racking and stacking equipment, followed standard design processes and considerations. Developed and released manufacturing process plans.
