Professional Experience
Lead Network Maintenance Technician, Douglasville, GA (2003 – 2013)
Supported team supervisors by enforcing daily work schedules related to demand/ preventive maintenance. Worked collaboratively with other departments on the timely resolution of customer issues, maintaining and quickly restoring services, correcting plant issues, and assisting fulfillment technicians with daily activities.
Monitored plant intermittent, balancing, and sweeping cable issues. Expertly performed troubleshooting of hubs, nodes, and plant connections to customer equipment. Conducted and documented proof-of-performance testing for plant, ride out, and repair of CLI leaks. Served as a trainer and mentor to new, and less-experienced technicians.
Responsible for performing routine troubleshooting calls, surveys, locates, outage repair, on-call duty, shift work, track/repair CLI, power supply maintenance, and construction maintenance in accordance with company procedures and practices. Called upon to troubleshoot and resolve service failures related to any company products, to include but not be limited to Video (analog and digital,) Voice Over IP (VoIP,) and High Speed Internet (HSI) (including Home Networking and Home Plug.)
Performs construction maintenance duties such as splices aerial and underground coaxial cable and equipment to restore cable plant to system specification, splices and activates new coaxial plant as required. Repairs and or replace damaged aerial and underground plant and inspects, repairs and replaces power supplies as necessary.
Safety Training: knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC,) the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC,) the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA,) Federal Communications Commission (FCC,) Environmental Protection Agency (EPA,) Department of Transportation (DOT,) American National Standards Institute (ANSI,) and various state and local codes including G.O. 95 and G.O. 128, (when applicable.)
