I have only been able to work on 4 builds while with the company. All 4 have been for Mastec. While I enjoy working for James and with his crew, I haven't been able to get enough hours (not one two week period with 80 hours) to pay my bills. I have been informed that we're waiting Mastec to release POs for any upcoming builds, and until that happens there's really not any work available for me, at the moment. This is why I am looking for more or other employment.

RF Tower Technician Nov. 2014 - May 2015

During my short time with GCI I aligned and peaked multiple MW shots for the backhaul of the their cellular network. I was part of the network field performance and optimization group. I also installed and upgraded multiple FAA beacons, and had the chance to change a lot of light bulbs in the process. I also helped troubleshoot multiple network issues using an Anritsu.

I had been upgrading Sprint's 4g LTE upgrades all over the Seattle and Spokane/Coeur d'Alene markets, including 2.5 GHz builds. This was all along the northwest coast. I have built high capacity sites, 4 sector sites, ground mounted radio sites, hung antennas on water towers, roof tops etc. I also have been on a Tiger Team, taken close-outs photos, helped decommission legacy equipment, and been lead during M-1 cut-over involving a cluster of 4 sites, dealt with calls to the bridge and NOCC, I have logged into sites and worked with the TAC, and help RF Techs do some troubleshooting.

ABS Alaskan, Inc. Fairbanks, Alaska

Among the many of contracts I worked on of while with ABS, one of them was a wind farm feasibility study that GVEA had been conducting for at least 4 years I was with the company. This resulted in the construction 24MW Eva Creek Wind Farm.
Site access was by 4-wheeler or snow-machine 17 miles from where you parked the truck. A local from the closest town and me, the lead, were responsible for the maintence, data collection, raising, lowering of the 7 Rohn guyed MET towers. All of the site a logistics nightmare to get to, maintain, build, power, and communicate with. There was 2 @ 80m, 2 @ 30m, and 4 @ 50m. . Due to extreme weather I had to climb to repair failed sensors, in extreme cold-weather. There was also no shelter from the weather, not even the cab of a truck. With the lack of grid power available keeping the Flash-Tech signal light running on the 80m towers, wasn't easy especially with a 2 hour ride from Fairbanks. We installed and aligned the 1w & 2w HughesNet dishes on each 80m site to allow the tower to notify us via email if the FlashTech went out. The data collection and some commutation hardware was from Campbell Scientific.
I installed a large GNB Absolyte AGM rack battery bank in a shelter on raised 20' platform off of Shoup Point in Valdez, AK for Copper Valley Telephone. The batteries were slung in with a chopper onto a roller assembly that barely stuck out of the shelter door long enough to catch the 2,200lbs loads. I also replaced the main back-up bank at their main office in Gleenallen, AK
