Contract furnace tech for P91 chrome pre-weld and post weld thermal treat. Pre-weld;
wrapped chrome pipe and fittings with thermal pads to print and code specifications for
welding application and maintained required temperatures through that process. Post-
weld; designed and built temp furnaces for finished product for final heat treat
processing, this included D10-10 code set-up. Maintained thermal couples, TAU’s, and
portable electric furnaces during my contract time as well.

Thermal Treat
ITTF Operator / Attendant, CTTF / QTTF Attendant, Gas fired roller furnace Operator /
Attendant. Job duties include but are not limited to, adjusting temperature zones and
material feed speeds of the furnaces to produce desired product. ITTF and QTTF are
magnetic thermal induction furnaces which require specialized training to operate.
Furnace zones use volt and amp power systems rather than ambient heat. We also use a
forklift to load and unload steel tube and solids on furnace work tables. Set up quench
tanks and use a 20 ton dual hoist crane for water and oil quench. Building bale loads in
Order Source, calling in and out loads using DCD and FHWIPA for straddle yard and
truck services. We also sample cut product for the lab as well as brinell hardness test and
inspect steel bar at QTTF.

Plant Utility Operator
Briquette / Blend System - Responsible for press production of titanium pucks. Job requires
knowledge of blend system computer programs, understanding of product chemistries, press
tooling and set-up, welding, valve rebuilding, and fork-lift operation. Required to do own
troubleshooting and maintenance on the entire press production system.
Can loader - Responsibilities include operating a remote 20 ton crane to load and unload raw
material cans from the furnace. Use crane to transport cans to can loader system, load and
program can loader to feed blended material into empty cans.

Lab - Responsible for reviewing formulators ingot chemistry formulation, ensuring that all
persons involved are aware of any special processes that need to be implemented throughout the
plant process to ensure quality ingots. Trained on lab button welder to help reduce work load in
the lab.

Special Notes - As a senior operator in the titanium melt dept. I was responsible for training and
managing all other briq and can loader employees. I worked with the R&D team on creating and
improving the processes at the briquetter and can loader, and I have worked on kaizen teams that
have improved the manufacturing processes at all three production facilities in Canton.

Kiln operation - Ensure cart rotation, load and un-load kiln carts, track and maintain kiln
temperatures and cart movement inside kiln.

Mill operation - General duties required knowledge of scales, math and measurement. Created
paints using specific chemical and metals measurements generated by the lab, large batch
operations used 400 gal. tumblers.

Color lab - Worked with management on matching test colors for buyers. General duties
involved creating and implementing new test colors and careful measurement of all chemicals to
ensure precision levels of color variation.
