2001-2012. I worked as a Laborer/Driver for Oaklawn Blacktop Paving out of Mokena, IL. During my 11 years there I operated commercial dump trucks, asphalt rollers, skid loaders, and other small engine powered equipment. Laborer duties included coordination of site layout, verify and ensure efficient progress according to blueprints and customer expectations, assist with light equipment maintenance, as well as all physical work required. Laying asphalt is a very skilled trade and one that I excelled at. I am trained to follow state and local laws and safety requirements in industrial environments and heavy construction as a whole.
Education and Certifications
I attended Lincoln-Way High School in New Lenox, IL. Graduated in 1994. I accrued enough credits to graduate half way through my senior year. During school I studied auto-shop and welding classes.
In 1999 I went Star Truck Driving School in Cicero, IL. I completed 160 hours for my class-A commercial drivers license. I hold a Hazmat endorsement as well as Tanker and Doubles/Triples. I traveled OTR for 7 months with Great Dane Corp. in late 1999 and early 2000.
In 2008 I received a 10 hour OSHA certification and scaffold building cert. through Local 75 Laborers.
On March 12, 2012 I received a traffic safety flagger certification.
I am CPR qualified and trained in Hazardous Materials/Emergency Response.
I hold a current Medical card and have a clean DOT record. Also I am physically fit, Do not smoke, and I am drug free.
Objective
I wish to build a full-time, long-term relationship with an established, stable employer. I require consistent work, health care, retirement, and vacation time from any company that I become employed with. I am a hardworking and dedicated employee who will do his job with pride and professionalism. I will always be on time and willing to work extra if needed.
