Trotter’s is a family owned cafe and bakery that specializes in preparing high-quality meals, baked good, beverages, and catering. We source most of our ingredients from local and organic farmers and focus our business on providing a service that is not commonly experienced in standard restaurants. My responsibilities include: cooking meals, preparing catering orders, prepping ingredients, and keeping a constant eye on the status of the kitchen and availability of ingredients to meet whatever demands might walk through the door in a timely and qualitative manner.

Spirit Gymnastics (October 2012 to 2015)
Position: Equipment Handling and Management
Spirit Gymnastics is a gymnastics club located at Hamline University. The facility and equipment are shared by the Hamline Women’s Gymnastics Team and the Spirit club. My responsibilities include providing for the needs of both programs. These responsibilities include: setting up for meets and competitions by deconstructing the equipment, moving it downstairs into the gymnasium and field house, and reconstructing the equipment. Maintaining the equipment with a high attention to detail is our highest priority as the safety of the gymnasts depends upon it.

Data Recognition Corporation (April 2013 to July 2013, seasonal)
Position: Team Leader
Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) is a large corporation that assess and grades large quantities of standardized essays from various school districts and state education programs within the United States. Every essay must be graded with the same scrutiny as every other essay, and each reader grades anywhere from a hundred to several hundred essays each day. My responsibility was to oversee a team of roughly a dozen readers. This included: instructing readers how to read and grade the essays in response to each prompt, double checking the scoring and looking for any inconsistencies, handling time cards and employee reports, and compiling packets of feedback for each state/ school district/ prompt along with recommendations on how to improve the testing procedures.

Northland College (2008 to 2012)
Position: Event Crew Manager
I attended Northland College from 2008 until 2012; my work-study job was in the Campus Center’s information desk for the first two years (xxx-xxx-xxxx), and as the Event Crew Manager for the Campus Center for my remaining time at Northland (xxx-xxx-xxxx). As Event Crew Manager, I was in charge of managing and scheduling a team of roughly 8-14 students for all major events in the Campus Center and neighboring buildings. My responsibilities included: overseeing set-ups and communicating with the parties putting-on the event(s) and creating a “game plan” to ensure that the events went over as smoothly as possible. I also managed my team, which included: knowing which team members worked best together, coordinating schedules, training, disciplinary action, participating in the decisions to hire new crew members, calculating payroll, and acting as a liaison for my superiors, crew members, and third parties.

Volunteering and Leadership

Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services (SMRLS) - Occasional Volunteering
SMRLS is a non-profit organization aimed at providing free access to the legal system for underprivileged, disabled, or financially challenged individuals and families that would otherwise be unable to obtain service. Since 2011, I have volunteered on multiple occasions to help with various office duties and events.

Elected as a representative for a portion of the student body at Northland College.

Northland College First Year Experience - Leader
As a college senior in the fall of 2011, I undertook the responsibility of counseling and facilitating activities for a group of 12 incoming freshmen. The First Year Experience program lasts for three months and is intended to match capable and exemplary upperclassmen with impressionable first year students. Each student was managed and evaluated through a serious of projects and activities and given a Pass or Fail mark at the end of the program.

Northland College Orientation Trip - Leader
In the Fall of 2010 three of my peers and I planned, coordinated and lead a 5-day canoeing, hiking, and camping trip on Lake Superior for 23 incoming freshmen at Northland College.
