Assist with Radiographic and Ultrasonic Inspections, testing welds for discontinuities that could cause a future leak and using UT to test for pipe thickness on down lines as well as active lines. On several occasions I managed to spot areas of active pipe that were under regulation thickness. The findings were forwarded to the operator in charge of that lease, who had the line shut down and fixed in time to avoid a costly and potentially hazardous leak.

Maintain a safe working area around oil field/commercial inspection sites by utilizing radiation hazard cone perimeters and 2 man surveillance at all times. On one occasion I was able to stop a group of engineers from entering an area with a source out by keeping constant visuals of my cone perimeter and all of its entrances and exits. The customers I stopped were not paying attention to the cone zone and were unaware of the radiation dangers they were walking into. I was able to inform them of what it was we were doing, and the importance of respecting the safety signs available around our work site.

Locating and Inspection of flow/production/steam lines in the field and at AWT/GS sites using DSI reports handed down from MHO/operators. I was able to safely navigate the Kern River Chevron leases very well, which saved operators and welding crews’ valuable time when dealing with emergencies. I also spent times driving the leases spotting leaks that were not yet accounted for, to assist in getting maintenance crews on site as soon as possible. This helped save not only time and money but also helped to reduce any and all possible health and environmental hazards.

On site safety and JSA creation. I was tasked daily with the creation of a Job Safety Analysis for each job, Wherein I would perform a meet and greet any time someone stepped foot onto our work area. By surveying the immediate and surrounding area I was able to set up a precise plan of action for the avoidance of and evacuation from possible safety hazards. Through tailgate meetings and meet and greets I was able to inform others of the immediate hazards associated with our work area and help to avoid any possible injury or death incidents.
