Recently I have also tried my hands on self-employment. Due to the economy downslide after my latest venture, I have been forced to close my doors and re-enter the job market. Supervisor / Regional Manager

Vartec Telecom - Dallas, TX 03/1997 - 10/2003

As Supervisor;

Responsible for the construction and build out of a new Digital Telecom Long Distance Switch site in New York City. Coordinated all construction and worked with project managers and vendors. Hired staff and implemented all procedures and standards to bring on line and make operational. Once operational, ensured site ran properly and installs and disconnects where done in a timely fashion. Handled daily billing and other functions. Responsible for a 6 man team. Restored all switch outages in a timely manner. Handled all employee reviews, promotions and disciplinary actions.

As Regional Manager;

Took over the East Coast Switches. A total of 6 locations in all. Duties where the same as above and more. I had a 2 million dollar budget at my disposal and reported directly to VP of Operations. I was responsible for 23 Technicians and 6 Supervisors. When there was an outage at one of the locations, I had to get it resolved as quickly as possible, since the outages cost the company $60000/hour in revenue. When I took over the East Coast, it was the worst of the three regions as far as employees, outages and profit. After 1-1/2 yrs., my region was at the top of all categories.

Worked for many companies over those years, such as Northern Telecom, TRW-Vidar and others. Started installing fiber optics digital equipment and microwave. Was promoted to test technician and tech support along the way. Became the youngest manager in the history of Northern Telecom (the AT&T of Canada). Was the first to have multiple perfect installed jobs (zero defects) after quality control came through to sign off job. Became the go to guy in most cases at most positions. Worked on many special projects and high my efficiency, accomplishments and productivity.
