Set-up and safe use of oxy-fuel metal cutting; interpretation of welding symbols from construction drawings; cleaning and grinding operations; plasma arc cutting; weld weave and overlapping beads; horizontal fillet welds (2F position); vertical fillet welds (3F position); overhead fillet welds (4F position); fit up gauges and measuring devices; steel plate welds in flat V-Groove (1G position) and vertical V-Groove (3G position); flux core fillet weld positions (1F, 2F, 3F, and 4F); Open Root V-Groove positions (1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G; different types of filler metals; sheet steel, aluminum, and stainless steel in basic joint designs (butt weld, T-joint weld, and lap weld); fabrication processes; reading and interpreting drawings for layout, cut and/or correctly apply bend reductions to specifications and weld joints.
