Apprentice Lineman with Mid Plains Power; Grand Island, NE.                                            June 2012 to February 2013.

I worked on a powerline contractor crew in Kansas and Iowa replacing transmission and distribution circuit lines with all new equipment and hardware. The job included framing and setting of poles; stringing of conductors and associated equipment; and wrecking out the old existing hardware.Ground support for hotline work; use and maintenance of digger and bucket trucks; compressors; bobcats; and associated equipment.Our crew was working in very rural areas hundreds of miles from headquarters where flexibility, versatility, and being a reliable and effective team member were key to getting the job done. While working with MPP, I also completed the entire first academic year of the Merchant Lineman Apprentice Program.

Commercial Fishing/Diving Industry off the California coast.Worked in both crew and captain positions in the Sea Urchin Fishery. Underwater and on-deck work involved heavy machinery; hoists and winches, hydraulics, pneumatics, underwater air supply with SCUBA and Hooka systems. Meticulous attention to detail, safety consciousness, self motivation with a hard work ethic, and top physical fitness were all essential components of success in this business.
