Manager, Saipan HF Transmitter Sites,

Employed as Technical Supervisor for Rome Research Corp overseeing 17 employees at the Saipan/Tinian IBB-HF broadcasting relay site including Radio Australia via Intelsat.
Manages all station activities including QC monitoring, safety training Liaison with LAN/WAN Administrator on Hardware/Software issues including Internet and Government email problems. Oversee Facilities maintenance functions including preventive maintenance procedures on Antennas. Establish guidance for employee-s on the maintenance of the Continental 418 HF transmitters, Broadband Air- Mux 400 - Multiplexers / Microwave, 2-way Motorola VHF Radio Mobiles/ repeaters, Satellite Interconnect System/ remote facilities using PLC's, security systems for sites. Manage Security systems on 11 acre US Government including supervising 4 Security guards. Certified by Comtrain as Tower Rescue Climbing Safety Instructor in Atlanta, GA in April , 2014.

Nov. 2006 to April 2009- Military Sealift Command - employed as Radio Electronics Engineering officer maintaining all Communications/Electronics Equipment aboard various Military MSC Contract vessels. Maintained L-band Inmarsat A, B, & C terminals manufactured by JRC, SATURN & TRIMBLE. MF/HF Radio transceiver's up to 1kw including antenna systems using SITOR Modes, Also VHF/UHF transceiver's 25 to 50 watts including Rockwell-Collins -GRC 171 Aircraft + Singhars used for Helo Ops in Persian Gulf. Repaired S & X band radar's (mostly 50 kw units) manufactured by Raytheon, Racal-Decca Installed Furuno GMDSS on board & helped Commission unit. Maintained Computer systems (Dell-270/280+various laptops + peripherals + Ethernet LAN's onboard (WIN NT4).

Jan 2006 to Nov. 2006- Lead Technician at Saipan IBB site for Rome Research Corporation. Worked on 100Kw HF Continental 418/419 transmitters and the ABB 500Kw transmitters. (3 phase XFMR-s- ATS system with Power monitors installed) Timeplex MUX operations used to connect Saipan and Tinian transmitting stations via Microwave equipment including remote facilities using PLC's, security systems for both Tinian and Saipan sites and antenna maintenance procedures. Used various test equipments including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and fluke meters to troubleshoot and rectify problems down to component level. Also maintained Satellite Interconnect System ( C-Band Uplink/downlink .. Climbs towers and fixes antenna array problems, correcting arcing and other problems. Certified as Rescue Tower Climber.

FEB 93 to DEC 95- Employed as Communications Technical Officer in Australian Joint Defense Communications base at Northwest Cape, Western Australia working again at the HF Transmitter, VLF, Satellite Sites (GRC-39). I was previously employed there from 1981-1990. (NAVY contract) Work involved troubleshooting to component level Solid- State exciters used with Vacuum Tube type High Powered transmitters (10 KW) - Rockwell-Collins 8151 (FRT 96). I completed a Maintenance course on the FRT-96-s in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1986. Also 3 phase power supplies/switch mode supplies/UPS & Generators used on Sites. Did alignments on High Powered Amplifiers & Antenna Systems ( RF matrix switching, etc.) . Repair and align Harris HF Receivers + test Antenna systems using Swept frequency methods with Tracking generator/Spectrum Analyzer's & HP 8407 Network analyzer system. Assisted VLF maintenance supervisor and Riggers on Antenna projects. Also worked on Federal Police UHF repeaters & Base Security Communications.

JAN. 1991 to FEB 93- Military Sealift Command PREPO ships - Employed as Radio Electronics Officer -(Shipboard) operating & maintaining all communications/Electronics Equipment aboard various Military MSC Contract & Commercial vessels. Maintained L-band Inmarsat A, B, & C terminals manufactured by JRC, SATURN & TRIMBLE. MF/HF Radio transceiver's up to 1kw including antenna systems using CW, SSB, SITOR Modes, Also VHF/UHF transceiver's 25 to 50 watts including Aircraft systems used for Helo Ops. JAN 1990 to JAN 1991 - Employed by Air-Space Technology as Transmitter Site Supervisor on DOD LF/HF XMTR Site located at Barrigada, GUAM. Supervised7 Electronic Technicians & 8 Radio Operators involved in operating/maintaining 63 FRT 83, 84 (10KW) & FRT 85 (40 KW) transmitters + 2 (FRT -72) 100 KW LF Xmtr's. Also responsible for two 1 KW MF Solid State transmitters for USCG used for NAVTEX Broadcasts to Merchant Ships. Worked with Antenna Riggers on testing RLPA, (Log Periodic) Rhombic, & Conical Monopole Antennas using HP-407 Swept Frequency techniques. Also FCC-100 MUX's, STU III's. Held SECRET Clearance. (also acting Station Manager for last QTR (1990)

FEB 1982 to JAN. 1990- Employed as Contract Communications Technical Officer on US NAVY HFCOMMSTA located at Northwest Cape, Western Australia. Work involved troubleshooting to component level Solid- State exciters used with Tube type High Powered transmitters -40 KW) TMC FRT 39-40 series, Continental FRT 85's. Rockwell-Collins 8151 (FRT 96) Completed US NAVY "C" Schools (Great lakes, Ill.) in 1985 & Rockwell Course in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1986. Also troubleshoot power supplies/switch mode supplies/UPS & Generators used on Sites. Did alignments on High Powered Amplifiers & Antenna Systems (Matrix Switching, etc.) Installed 10 KW Rockwell 8151 transmitters on Site. Maintained 100 watt Solid state Swept Frequency transmitters for Ionosphere propagation testing between several transmitters /Rx sites around the World. Completed USAF course on System in 1984 taught at Kessler AFB. Assisted Navy techs in FM repair Shop working on VHF/UHF transceivers GE/Motorola) up to 50 watts used on Base & Mobile Stations. (Repair to component level) Held Joint US/Australian SECRET Clearances on Joint Facility at Base. Complete Smith Charts on Antenna Survey for Rcvr Site. Assist/Instruct US NAVY + Royal Australia NAVY E.T.'s with US Navy PMS System. Set up Computer controlled Remote system to control XMTR operation from Remote site.

May 1980 to Feb 1982 - Employed as Radio technician for Hammersly Iron mining site at Paraburdoo, WA . Work consisted of installation & Repair of Phillips 1680 + 828 VHF
( Lo-Band) Transceivers. Also put in new Philips 828 Repeater on Mine site (Hill 1380) including Vertical Dipoles. Also repaired Admin Computer data system and Telephone Exchange.

JAN 1979 to MAY 1980 - employed as Satellite Earth Station technician on US Army FSC-78 Site at Kwajalein Missile Range located in the Marshall Islands. Work consisted of Preventive & Corrective maintenance with Philco-Ford 5KW Xmtrs using TWT's. Also involved in Cryogenic cooling systems used in Parametric Amplifiers & Antenna maintenance repairing Antenna Servo Drivers, etc. Worked with GASFET LNA's as Well. Completed 4 week DCSS course taught out of Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

JAN 1976 to JAN 1979- Employed as Marine Communications & Avionics Technician for ROGGE Communications/Helitrans Australia located in Cairns, Queensland. Work involved repair & installation of HF/VHF/UHF radio Gear & RADAR (Furuno /Anritsu) Mostly CODAN HF on Fishing vessels. Also Bench Repair/Alignment on Aircraft Radio's (Collins 618 T) KING, Sun-air ASB 125's + setup Auto Antenna Tuners. Bendix ADF + 75 Mhz Marker beacon Rcvrs & Commnav 18-136 MHZ radios + VOR/DME systems. Also installed Radio gear on Beechcraft Barons, Navajos, & Bell 206 helicopters in Papua New Guinea.

APRIL 1974 to Jan 1976 - Employed as Communications Technical Officer/Supervisor by Hawker Siddley Electronics Working on Military Contract (MRC-127) for AUSTRALIAN ARMY. Work included test & Troubleshooting all Components on GRC-103 Trailer Borne UHF/ Microwave vans. (40 Watt Xmtr's, Rcvr's, Duplexers + TDM Multiplexers.) Managed Environmental testing at GWESF Calibration Lab site.
