Established in 1998, DBU stands for Directional Boring and Utility, the company got its start doing underground contracts for Verizon Telecommunications. In 2003, the company started focusing on site work, mostly in southern New Hampshire.

DBU Construction, Inc. is headquartered in Chichester, New Hampshire, and handles a variety of projects including site work, road work, utilities, and directional boring.

In 2008, Jessica Towne took ownership of DBU Construction, Inc., making the company a Women-Owned Business Enterprise. In 2011 the New Hampshire Department of Transportation certified DBU as a DBE, making DBU Construction, Inc. the first Women Owned business enterprise in New Hampshire to provide directional drilling services.
