First Light Resources was founded in 2004 as a DBE supplier of airport lighting, signage, and related materials. In this capacity, First Light Resources participated in major airport projects across 17 states.

After serving more than 16 years at Flash Technology, a respected supplier of FAA Aviation Obstruction Lighting and monitoring services, Richard Hickey took over management of the company in 2013 and redirected the focus to FAA/FCC compliance consulting in the areas of structure lighting, marking, and monitoring.
