I  worked for Jed Mechanical in 1984/85 as a plumbing manager. Jed Mechanical was established in Pittsburgh, Pa. in 1949. JED is the initials of the founder’s daughter. The founder was Walter Duquette. His daughter Judith Elizabeth Duquette, JED is a lawyer currently in Bethesda, Md. She had no interest in JED.

When I was hired as a plumbing/project manager for Jed, we were 250 plumbers focusing on New Construction Plumbing only. My relationship with Walter Duquette became like a father figure and was very welcoming to me and my family especially that I just lost my Dad. Mr. Duquette, “Duke” approached me at lunch one day and asked if I had a interest in buying Jed Mechanical. I of course said yes, and started to restructure the company into service, repairs,gas accounts with Washington Gas, Conversions/gas fireplaces, Sears for water heaters, Maxliner for sewer lining and so forth…..Here we are today.
