Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Tower Technician – Crew Lead to support nationwide telecom infrastructure projects. This role involves extensive travel (6–8 week assignments) and hands-on leadership in the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of wireless systems across cell towers, rooftops, fiber networks, small cells, and microwave systems.

The ideal candidate is a safety-focused professional with 3+ years of tower climbing or telecom field experience, strong technical expertise, and the ability to lead crews while ensuring projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.

Location: Washington State, PNW market (Nationwide travel)
Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday (weekends and overtime as needed)
Weekly Hours: Typically 40–60 hours

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform wireless equipment installations, retrofits, and maintenance on towers, rooftops, and pole-mounted sites
  • Lead crews in daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Interpret technical plans, construction drawings, and project specifications
  • Conduct daily safety briefings, job hazard analyses, and task planning
  • Identify and mitigate job site hazards in accordance with company protocols
  • Utilize RF and fiber testing equipment (Anritsu, OTDR, PIM testers, etc.) for diagnostics and commissioning
  • Ensure projects meet client benchmarks and deadlines
  • Submit accurate daily reports, time tracking, and project close-out documentation
  • Maintain responsibility for company tools, equipment, PPE, and vehicles
  • Assist with incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of tower climbing or telecom site experience
  • Active certifications required: OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, RF Awareness, Comtrain (or equivalent), NWSA TTT1/TTT2
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel extensively (4–6 week deployments nationwide)
  • Ability to climb towers up to 500 feet
  • Capable of lifting 50+ lbs
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Open to night shifts, extended workdays, and overtime
  • Must pass routine drug screenings
  • Proficient with GPS-enabled timekeeping apps and basic computer tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with national carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile
  • Skilled in rigging and operating lifts, trailers, or other job site equipment
  • Experience using PIM, Anritsu, OTDR, ODM, and similar test instruments
  • Ability to interpret load charts and structural guidelines
