June 2013-May 2015: Telecommunications Technician

Upgraded Sprint sites from 3G to 4G LTE. Specific tasks included:

Mounting Communications Cabinets while installing and wiring batteries and hybrid coax/fiber optics cables within.

Mounting 3-6 antennas per tower while ensuring proper center heights, mechanical and electrical down-tilts, and azimuths between 30 and 250 feet high.

Installing 800 and 1900 MHz Remote Radio Units (RRUs) to pair with antennas.

Securing hybrid coax/fiber optics cables to tower and wiring into RRUs and cabinet(s).

Grounded components both up and down tower either with various sized lugs to copper plates or by exothermic welding.

Projects often included decommissioning current Legacy 3G antennas and cabinets to make room for the new and improved sector.

June 2013–May 2015: Wind Turbine Technician

Repairing/maintaining various models of wind turbines. Specific models w/ tasks include:

Nordic (1 MW)

Preventative maintenance to including greasing, torqueing including use of Hytorc, tensioning using Tentec (electronic and hand pump) tensioning units.

Experience utilizing turbine monitoring and control software.

Rope access work for blade inspections and vortex generator removal.

Took part in full cross-state drivetrain swap.

Hydraulics troubleshooting and replacements.

Accumulator testing, filling, and replacing.

Cone bushing and teeter buffer replacements. (Used for dampening forces from hub on the unique two blade design).

Limited gearbox borescoping experience.

Brake pad and caliper analysis/replacements.

Yaw and speed proximity sensor troubleshooting and replacements.

Preventative maintenance including greasing, torqueing, cable and junction box inspections, and tip brake maintenance.

Troubleshooting errors involving slip rings, tip brakes, and other various errors, from up tower.

Troubleshooting errors from down tower control cabinets including tracing blown fuses, various voltage and current readings, and contactor issues.

Performed numerous voltage/current reports to ensure proper turbine performance.

Preventative maintenance including greasing and torqueing, yaw puck replacements, and various voltage and current checks.

Fit and installed experimental manufacturer engineered hub reinforcement plates to 10+ machines.

Slip ring assembly replacement.

Full hub replacement w/o the aid of drivable crane.

Troubleshooting of various voltage/current issues as well as tracing faulty components.

Preventative maintenance including greasing, torqueing, and standard wire/generator inspections.
