Airway Transportation Systems Specialist, FV-2101-H
I am responsible for equipment and communication services at ZLA ARTCC that are in direct support of National Airspace System (NAS). I perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Voice Switching and Control System (VSCS), Radio Control Links (RCL) a communication system that provides a path for air traffic data, Digital Voice Recorder System, and Radio Systems (CM300, NEXTCOMM) with emphasis on preventing equipment outages that will impact the NAS. I ensure the availability and reliability of the redundant and backup systems.
I thoroughly log all actions and events using the Simplified Automated Logging (SAL), I coordinate all maintenance actions through the Service Operation Center (SOC).
I assist field technicians (includes FAA technicians, DOD technicians, AT&T technicians, FTI, ETC.) with trouble shooting, and provide coordination with Service Operation Center (SOC) and Air Traffic Control (ATC) to them. Make sure proper trouble shooting technique and expertise are provided to field technicians, and satisfied customer services are to Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Service Operation Center (SOC).
As a few certified radio technician in the shop, accomplished the projects associated with radio equipment updates. Such as transmission cable replacement, antenna replacement, and radio software update. During project, I make coordination with contractors, scheduled outage of equipment with Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Service Operation Center (SOC) to make sure proper procedure are followed.
I maintain systems that are critical to NAS operation for both locations: Radio Communication equipment: GRT21, 22 GRR23, 24, and MOTOROLA CM300. NAV-AIDS: VOR VORTAC. Environment equipment: MALSR, VASI. Voice Switching Systems: ETVS.
I build a strong and good relationship between air traffic controllers and technicians by provide satisfying service. I coordinate outages of equipment with Air traffic Control (ATC) and Pacific Operation Control Center (POCC) for preventive maintenance and trouble shooting.
Associate Network Technician
Responsible for installation and maintenance of the FAA FTI cabling and equipment. Responds to dispatches for corrective issues, maintenance requests, cut-over support, Mission support and DCD's. Pull Various Ethernet, T1, console, SDP and ISP Cables and terminations. Terminate RJ11, RJ45, DB9, DB-25, Standard puchdown on 66 and 110 blocks. Install Various equipment such as routers, modems, Cyclades, DNX-1U, DNX11, Interplexes, data-probes, etc. and the cards that go with said equipment. Performed SA'S, SIA'S, rack build outs, grounding and basic AC and DC power.
