United States Marine Corps Sensor Surveillance Operator 2016-2018
• Trained with Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS) in ordered to emplace sensors by going out on patrols and digging in the ground to put sensors underground in remote places and keep them working.
• Worked alongside US Customs and Border Patrol in support of Joint Task Force-North, Deming, NM emplacing sensors in the border between USA and Mexico to detect Aliens crossing the border illegally and drug trafficking.
• Responsible for the weekly programming of UGS by programming sensors with a computer program called Sentinel.
• Provided force protection for friendly forces, target identification and early warning of vehicle traffic ensuring personnel safety.
• Responsible for erecting an antenna mast 30 ft. high and attaching VHF, SATCOM and GPS antennas by setting up 5 poles on top of a base pole and running the VHF cables to the monitoring station down at the ground with basic hand tools.
• Recorded monthly sensor activation data for analysis.
• Maintained inventory, accountability and functionality of sensor systems gear worth over $100,000,000 by checking that no damage was made to the sensor, and if damaged was present I had to take it apart and fix any wire short or disconnected wires.
