Climbing and working on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems and equipment, taking inventory, tower maintenance, and observing and reporting possible compound/equipment defects or hazards.
Manage the day-to-day activities of a group of Tower Technicians as well as running crews of 2-5 climbers and act as a team lead and mentor to less experienced Tower Technicians.
Coordinating and implementing building of new sites at sector.
Working to make sure site is plumed correctly top to bottom.
Expansion and upgrades to established major cellular carrier networks.
Break/Fix work, consisting of repairs and upkeep to existing cellular networks/sites.
Pre- and post-work site audits including site maintenance, repair and close-outs.
Cellular radio and antenna swaps and site upgrades.
Installation of antenna system components (Fiber, Power, COAX, grounding, supports, weatherproofing, connectors, hardware, etc.).
Installation of RF components (BTS, RRU's, antennas, TMA's, diplexers, etc.).
Mounting antennas and radios, running jumpers, wiring up raycaps.
Create and send closeout photos/packages and JSA.
Make connectors and jumpers.
Coordinate with RAN engineers to resolve issues.
Create justification forms for radios (AT&T).
Ensure that Job Hazard Assessment (JHA) requirements are identified, documented and followed.
