various environments from New York City to Rural southern New Jersey.

During my time in the Marine Corps I held several different responsibilities all pertaining to the infantry specialty of rifleman. I deployed twice to combat
zones in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan. The first responsibility I had was that of point man and mine sweeper. I was the first man of every patrol
and was responsible for selecting a route that was advantageous for the squads mission. My next responsibility was that of team leader. I was directly
responsible for four other Marines. I supervised, mentored, trained and couseled these Marines on a daily basis. I was also responsible for their fire and
movement in combat. As a team leader, I was meritoriously promoted to Corporal, graduated Combat Hunter Instructor Course (tracking and
observation in a combat environment) and Marine Corps Martial Arts Program Instructor Course. As a team leader deployed in Afghanistan, I was in
charge of several outposts and entry control points. It was my duty to ensure proper logistics to and from the post (food/water/batteries/etc) and
supervise security plans and procedures. I also acted in the capacity of a sentry. I was responsible for observing and securing various points of
government property--in the US and over seas. I conducted over 200 vehicle searches and over 1000 ID checks on United States and Afghan citizens.
The next responsibility I held was that of a squad leader. I was responsible for making sure all my Marines were trained and ready for combat. I was
also responsible for receiving missions from higher leadership, developing a plan for that mission, briefing the plan to my subordinates, and the
coordinating, supervising and executing the mission. I attended the advanced infantry training at Infantry Squad Leaders Course, where i graduated with
two awards: 1) A certificate of commendation for being chosen by my entire squad, and various other students in the class as the Marine they would
follow into combat. 2) A meritorious mast because my squad adviser chose me as the Marine he would pict ot be a squadleader in his platoon.
