H Brown Crane Service
Being part of a 1.4 Billion dollar project is not unusual for the men of H. Brown, Inc.
That’s what happened in the summer of 2014. H. Brown, Inc. was called upon to do much of the complicated rigging at a new steel tubing manufacturing plant near Shreveport, LA.
The work involved relocating and setting HV switchgear, LV switchgear and dry transformers weighing anywhere from 6,000 to 24,000 lbs. Now, this may not sound like a big deal, but given the fact that most of this was done inside the building and every piece was designed to be lifted from overhead only, this was a complex project requiring careful planning and execution.
With little or no headroom and obstructions everywhere, each situation was a little different and needed a unique approach. H. Brown had to use just about all of the tools that were available to us. We used gantries, beam trolleys, several different size cranes, slide systems, mat jacks, air skates, trucks and even a 40,000 lb. reach lift to complete everything on time and on budget.
The customer was very satisfied and impressed that the men of H. Brown were able to overcome the many challenges that they faced with each situation throughout this Louisiana rigging project.
