History

The history of Primus Electronics dates back to 1981 when it was founded by Dr. Michael Greenwald and Robert Cramner, two business-savvy individuals who put the company on the radar with their success in the two-way radio market. Seeing its long-term potential, Dr. Greenwald purchased the business in 1991 and promoted Mr. Michael Johnson to President of Primus Electronics.

By 1995, under the guidance of President Michael Johnson, Primus had grown from a neighborhood supplier into a successful and competitive player in the wireless communications market. Primus achieved this success by continuously expanding its quality line of products and building exceptional relationships within the industry.

Primus has grown every year thereafter with extraordinary accomplishments in several key industry segments including railroad, tower, broadband, and government, all while adhering to the superior service standards that helped secure substantial business along the way.

This substantial growth in business prompted a relocation in 2008 to the new Primus headquarters in Morris, Illinois. The Primus corporate office sits on nearly 30 acres and includes warehouse space and a secured lay down yard. Today Primus carries an extensive quality line of products from over 200 quality manufacturers and provides live support Monday through Friday, unsurpassed logistics programs, cutting edge staging and site kitting services, order and product customization, and cable processing.
