Southern California based Tower Maintenance Company is seeking a Top Hand climber with at least 5 or more years of certifiable and continuous climbing, rigging and installation experience.  We would prefer someone with more of a Two Way/Broadcast/Microwave Radio background, not Cellular since we are not in that market at all.  We typically don’t use manlifts since most of our work is on remote mountain tops and requires serious climbing and rigging abilities.  We also work for Utility companies that require clean Federal back grounds (no felonies), driving records and no substance abuse problems or health issues which would prevent you from working on Towers all day.

Our type of Tower work typically keeps us on the road anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks at a time and extends to Southern and Central California, occasionally the borders of Arizona and Nevada too.  Many of the projects we do allow us to be home each night.  All drivetime, overtimes and lodging and meals are paid for.  Per Diems are not “cashed out” but all out of town expenses are paid for and are quite substantial since we work for the Utilities.

The Top Hand candidate must be able to rig and work in many difficult tower and site scenarios, during inclement weather and work through potentially long days.  We are looking for a Top Hand that works well with his crew, can supervise novice climbers and fully handle the Tower end responsibilities.  Pay is commensurate with experience and proven abilities.  Some of our work is prevailing wage or close.  While we are a small company, this is an important role on our team and has room for growth and advancement.

We provide all tools, safety equipment, required ongoing industry training and are dedicated to maintaining a well equipped, trained and staffed Tower Team.

As with most construction based work there can be occasional light weeks, however, overall we have renewable yearly contracts that keep us quite busy.  We are in our 15th year of business and the owners have been in the industry for 25 years.
