I was brought in after this particular plant had experienced 3 deaths over a 2 year span and was assigned to the department with the worst safety record in the facility. During my time there were no more deaths and the department experienced significant improvement in safety performance to the point where within 18 months we were being recognized as the department with the highest rate of improvement and were among the safest departments in the facility.
