The recent continuing convergence of mobile and fixed networks has seen the appearance of so-called "cloud networks" offering "anytime, anywhere, anyone" network access, including not only communications, but also TV broadcasting, YouTube social networks, and live video streaming. The increasing needs for both security and virtualization are leading to the growth of even higher speeds based on IP and Ethernet technologies. On the other hand, legacy networks and infrastructure are finding it difficult to use these IP/Ethernet-based networks with the required efficiency.

Anritsu Networks was established in 2006 to integrate and consolidate the experience and know-how of the Information and Communications business of Anritsu Corporation with the System Integration and Service & Support business of Anritsu Technics Corporation.
