Created an open source database of research documents, grey literature, and scientific journals pertaining to
the Chesapeake Bay for the use of the Institution as well as researchers who seek information regarding the

• Utilized online resources such as JSTOR, WorldCat Online, and Smithsonian OneSearch to find digital copies of
texts already existing in the Chesapeakiana Collection housed at the Smithsonian Environmental Research
Center (SERC) in Edgewater, MD.
• Used Microsoft Excel extensively, along with Horizon LibraryTools to manage documents, access digital
cataloguing systems, and manage information to assist in building the database
• Assisted lead librarian Sue Zwicker in completing the physical establishment of the Chesapeakiana Collection at
SERC, and establishing the digital collection online
• Participated in various discussions on the use of digitizing documents and journals, and presented the work to the
