United States Army – 10th Mountain GroupApril 2005 to August 2008 A part of Alpha Company, 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Duties were under Combat Engineering in counter-mobility (obstacles to prohibit enemy lines from crossing), mobility (removing obstacles for US troops to proceed), mine placement, mine locating and disarming.
During enlistment and deployment operated mine detection devices, Talon, skid steer Bobcat (equivalent to a 1,000 lb.+ forklift and clamshell attachments), Husky (one man mine detection vehicle, 13 tons), Buffalo (27 ton vehicle), M1025/M1026 Humvee, M24 Charlie (bucket loader), M1078 Dump Truck (small), RG31 7-ton mine protected vehicle, and winch qualified (front). Also trained in C4 (plastics explosives), DET cord explosives, shock tube, time fuse (delayed explosives), crater and shape charges, and initiators.
