Description:

With a trained professional staff of technicians, engineers, sales engineers, and management, RMI, brings these innovative solutions together for Public Safety and Commercial Enterprise. Whether you simply want a two-way radio system to provide a more efficient way of communication for your personnel or if you would like to take advantage of technology to utilize your existing system(s) such as Smart Phones, Business PBX Phones, Video, or Machine/Building Alarm Notifications. RMI can provide a turnkey solution with the right communication system for your needs.
RMI was founded in 1954, formerly known as Gust and Westley, by Don Westley and the Gust Brothers as a small storefront television and appliance business based in West Lawn, PA. In 1956, the company created its niche by entering the communications market place as an original Motorola Service Station. In 1970, Don Westley became the sole proprietor and the transformation of the company began when Don moved the company to a 10,000 square foot facility and incorporated the business to form Radio Maintenance Inc. (RMI). RMI began providing Sales and Service to Berks, Montgomery, and Schuylkill, PA counties.
In 1994, RMI, was purchased by the management team of Gary N. Smith, Gerald J. Fredericks, and Jeffrey D. Koch, Sr. Adhering to the principals the company was founded, the new owners expanded the Corporation to meet the ever changing needs of the communication industry. This included constructing a communication tower(s) to provide wide area two-way radio trunking systems, territory expansion into Bucks, Lancaster, Lebanon, Chester, Dauphin, and York Counties, as well as expanding the product portfolio and purchasing a 29,000 square foot facility to accommodate these expansions.
The future direction of Radio Maintenance Inc. (RMI) expanded once again as Matthew R. Smith, Steven J. Kurtz, and Jeffrey D. Koch Jr., became shareholders of RMI. This welcomed move solidified the succession of ownership at RMI, but more importantly, it infused the Corporation with new ideas, direction and growth potential.
