Andy Schommer established Schommer & Sons in 1937. Located in Portland, Oregon, the company originally specialized in residential new construction and remodeling around the greater metropolitan area. In 1960, the company expanded into commercial and industrial construction as well. Continually pushing innovation, Schommer & Sons achieved a construction industry milestone in 1962 when we were the first company in Oregon to install Trus Joist products; the project was a new elementary school for Portland’s Holy Cross Parish. Now, the company is leading the way with its sustainable initiatives and practices.
